With Adobe XD, you have learned how to create wireframes, and then by dragging and dropping image assets into those wireframes, you have created a mockup that quickly transitions into a prototype.
Many businesses and agencies still use Photoshop to create mockups. There’s nothing wrong with that. I want to show you many different ways to make a working prototype from scratch in Adobe XD. Now I will show you how to create a working prototype using an existing Photoshop file.
It is possible for some companies to use the Photoshop file as a prototype without using prototype software. Which is fine as well. What if I told you that Adobe XD could directly handle Photoshop files? That’s true! There are no third-party plug-ins or applications to download. You can import your Photoshop files into XD by selecting “Open” from the “File” menu. You can also use keyboard shortcuts with Command-O for a Mac or Control O for a PC. The file will be automatically converted into a new XD file with editable artboards, layers, and assets.
