Create a compelling headline by summarizing what you do in a short sentence. This brief description appears next to the user’s name in search results. Your goal is to get your viewers’ attention for them to get curious enough to read more about you. When writing your headline, make sure it’s a reflection of what you do, who you are and make it relevant to your target market. Try and stay away from tacky sales pitches. Remember, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
Many people just put their official job title. Which is one way to go, or you can use the system to your advantage here. Choose descriptive and compelling keywords that:
a) make you as marketable as possible, and
b) help you get found by the right people. Remember, LinkedIn is a search engine.
There is a 120-character limit for your headline so that you can put more than one description. Be sure to think keywords while you craft it.
